Good Day Peeps,
I hope you all are doing well. Meet Jillie. Jillie is a self-taught artist based in Atlanta GA. I have been corresponding with Jillie for well over a year now.
About two months ago, I had a chance to meet her at the Afro Hippy Daze.
She is quite a pleasant well-talented woman of color. It was a pleasure to finally meet her. Recently, she experienced the loss of a family member.
Originally, I was going to post this on IG, however, I decided to dedicate a blog to her. I do hope you enjoy and connect with her. She’s a very talented painter.
I was told to mourn when you pass
When I should rejoice that you have
Transition on from this place
Hopefully to a place of comfort
Rest and work to do in the kingdom
Yet the human side Mourns
Yes it hurts yet deep down
You do not have to suffer anymore
For just being a negro
A place where I can be in solitude
A need time to rejuvenate
I must realize at some point
There are people here who I can help
I can use my work to allow people to relax
Who can be inspired
Who can take the energy of my works and art
And apply it to do positive things here
